Although the actor later apologized and accepted with a statement the Academy’s decision to sanction him for ten years, until now the public had not heard him speak out loud on the subject.
This has just changed. Four months and a day after the Oscars gala, Will Smith updated his YouTube channel apologizing to Chris Rock and everyone he hurt. After a text message in which she says it “In the last few months I have been thinking a lot and doing a lot of personal work”aims to answer the most frequently asked questions in his study, like a “Big Brother” confessional.
The actor begins by responding to why he didn’t apologize to Chris Rock at the time. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you want to talk.”. He also apologizes to the humorist’s mother and brother because he knows he has hurt many people. To everyone else, he notes: “There isn’t a single part of me that thinks it was a great way to deal with disrespect or insults.”.

I’m sorry, honey”. He also apologizes to his fellow nominees and award winner Questlove presented by Chris Rock for ruining the evening. Even to whom “admired him” before it got out of hand. “Disappointing people is my main trauma. It hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know that I haven’t lived up to the image and impression people have of me.” he adds, saying he is human and made a mistake and feels “deeply sorry”but make sure that “He’s trying not to feel like shit”. He concludes the video by stating that he wants to bring back the light and that if we wait a little longer, “I promise we can be friends again”.
