The decision not to continue with the series comes after the second season premiered just a few months ago on May 6.

As reported by Deadline, in the cancellation of ‘The Wilds’ the change of director would have been decisive. The series set in a dystopian future about a group of teenagers trapped on a desert island was one of the last projects developed and produced by Jamie Tarses when he was at the helm of the company, a position currently held by Jennifer Salke. So it’s more than likely that Salke wanted to continue developing those series she’s been involved in from the very beginning.

Prime Video, on the other hand, continues its intention to focus on series aimed at a young audience. Proof of this is ‘Summer I fell in love’ or the animated titles “The Boys Presents: Diabolical”spin-off of ‘The Boys’, it’s ‘Invincible’. “The Wilds”, which was supposed to be some sort of successor to “Lost” due to its plot type, will finally leave fans not knowing what happened to its characters.

Endless

Amazon canceled “The Wilds” after two seasons, so the series will be left without a closed ending. After the premiere of the first episode in December 2020, “The Wilds” quickly got a renewal for its second season, but its popularity waned with the new chapters, in which a new group of male characters was introduced after a first season focusing exclusively on female characters. The series starred Rachel Griffiths, David Sullivan, Troy Winbush, Sophia Ali, Sarah Pidgeon, Jenna Clause, Erana James, Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards and Shannon Berry, among others. The 2021 premiere of “Yellowjackets”, with a very similar theme, ended up overshadowing it, earning 7 Emmy nominations.
