MGM is moving forward with a I believe spin-off movie titled Dragonand there is a script that was written by Robert Lawton. No plot details have been shared, but it will focus on Russian boxer Ivan Drago, played by Dolph Lundgren as well as his son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), both had been seen previously I believe II.

When previously there was talk of a deleted scene from I believe II where audiences would see a fight between Rocky and Drago, he said there was talk of a Drago spin-off, saying:

“I thought it was a good time. It was also a time for the fans. It was a quick little fight and I thought it worked. But the director [Stephen Caple Jr.] and MGM felt it was foreign and added nothing. By the way, I think there is talk of doing a whole Drago spin-off with MGM. So you could get more. “

I like the Dragon character and I especially thought about his story arc I believe II it was great. I was hoping his story would continue, so it’s great to see MGM trying to tell it. The spinoff will definitely play and expand the threads of the storyline they were included in I believe II. Obviously, Drago’s relationship with his son and his country of Russia will play an important role in the story. Lundgren previously shared:

“Well, when I played the character, I told a backstory about how he was raised by the state and they controlled him. He didn’t have much to say. He wasn’t really an evil person; he was just a product of the system. Frankenstein. He’s not Dr. Frankenstein; that was the Soviet Union. So I always played that, and some things ran into 85. Something happened because in the next photo, I was not playing a villain. So in part he was there then too. Sly and I are friends, but now, I guess he wanted to show the other side of the character. So I’m sure I’ll have fun. “

The screenwriter of the film won a Nicholl scholarship in 2021 for a screenplay he wrote under the title Becoming Rocky, who reviewed the making of the Sylvester Stallone franchise. He also wrote, directed and starred in the 2006 romantic comedy Sex & Sushi.

Michael B. Jordan directs and acts I believe 3, which will be released on November 23rd. What do you think of the Drago spin-off film?
