Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones, Breaking Bad) has signed on to star in the upcoming AMC series and as an executive producer Orphan Black: Echoeswhich is an offshoot if the Orphan Black series.
Orphan Black: Echoes takes place in the near future and the story “explores the scientific manipulation of human existence. A group of women follows, one of them played by Ritter, as they insinuate themselves into each other’s lives and embark on an exciting journey, unraveling the mystery of their identity and unraveling a heartbreaking story of love and betrayal.
Ritter will play Lucy, who is described as “a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world”. Ritter is fantastic, and this is going to be a fantastic project for her to be a part of. I’m glad she was set up to star in it. She will fit in perfectly with this franchise.
The series was created by Anna Fishko, who is also a writer and showrunner of the series. She is also an executive producer along with John Fawcettco-creator of the original series, and also director. David Fortier And Ivan Schneebergexecutive producers of the original Orphan Blackthey also return as executive producers on the new series.
The series will consist of ten episodes and will premiere in 2023 on AMC Networks’ digital AMC + platform.
