A24 presents the trailer for ‘Pearl’, his new and surprising horror film

Just this year, director Ti West released “X”, a slasher inspired by “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”, but with modern touches. Not even six months have passed and the director is already back with “Pearl”, the prequel to his horror film, again with A24 in production, and Mia Goth reprising the role.

For those who have been able to see ‘X’ in theaters, you will know the trailer for ‘Pearl’ was screened in the credits of Ti West’s slasher, however, this small advance was kept exclusive to US capabilities. But now, A24 has taken it upon themselves to show it to everyone.

What is ‘Pearl’, the new A24 horror film about?

For now it is known that ‘Pearl’ is a prequel to ‘X’, so her story is set in 1918, and according to her synopsis: “Trapped on her family’s isolated farm, Pearl must take care of her sick father under the bitter and overbearing vigilance from her devoted mother. Desiring a life as glamorous as the one she saw in the movies, Pearl’s ambitions, temptations and repressions collide in the extraordinary Technicolor-inspired origin story of the iconic villain “X”.

In an interview for Bloody disgusting Earlier this year, director Ti West joked about “Pearl” saying that “Part of the idea of ​​this film that I find exciting is that there is a bigger plan behind it,” says the director. “It’s really a story about Pearl and we’re going to find out more about her. It is stylistically very different from ‘X’. There is no need for one without the other, but they enrich each other in a specific way. ”

In addition to Mia Goth as Pearl, the cast of the next A24 film includes David Corenswet, Tandi Wright, Matthew Sunderland and finally Emma Jenkins Purro. The script is curated by Ti West himself, with the help of Mia Goth, and opens on September 16.
