Amazon’s Prime Video has released a new trailer for the adaptation of its series A league of its own. Director Penny MarshallThe 1992 film is a great movie and a classic, one of my favorites. The new series is said to be “a fresh take” to that film, centered around the real All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.
The series will tell stories of new characters “who embody the spirit of a generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball”. The official synopsis reads:
A League of Their Own evokes the joyful spirit of Penny Marshall’s beloved classic, while expanding the lens to tell the story of an entire generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball. The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of an entirely new set of characters as they carve their own paths to the field, both in and outside the League.
The series is also starring the creator Have Jacobson with Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Kelly McCormack, Roberta Colindrez, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Kate Berlant, Nick OffermanAnd Melanie Campo.
Amazon debuts A league of its own series on Prime Video starting August 12, 2022. What do you think of the series?
