Nintendo announces plans for the first free NINTENDO SWITCH SPORTS update

Nintendo is releasing a free update for Nintendo Switch Sport July 26 at 6 p.m. PT. The update will cover soccer and volleyball along with some small refinements for online play. First, with Soccer, players can use the leg strap accessory (available with the physical version of the game, with Ring Fit Adventureor separately) in 4v4 and 1v1 matches.

This will allow you to kick with your real leg for game action like sprinting if you move your hands too. They say in-game kicks will be more powerful if you use the leg strap. It seems terrible to me. Firstly, there are people who for one reason or another cannot use the leg band and therefore are automatically at a disadvantage. Secondly, there are people who simply don’t want to use the leg strap. In Ring Fit Adventurethat leg strap can be a bit of a fussy eater and require very precise positioning which will get ruined when it inevitably slips a bit down your leg.

If you are a volleyball fan, you will be thrilled to be able to use a Slide Attack and a Rocket Service. No description was given other than “Make your spikes even more unpredictable or surprise your opponents early in the game!” I’m a little excited about this because I felt like the serves in volleyball were a little weak and I wanted the chance to have a faster serve. Maybe this is it?

Finally, for online play, the Pro League receives an S rank and a ∞ rank. I’m pretty sure it’s a symbol of infinity. Also, they are making it easier to play with friends by introducing room IDs. Yay! Are you excited about any of these updates? I hope more updates will come to really help shape the games that have come out as it seemed to me that many of them quickly became boring and monotonous. I’m most excited for the update later this year which will add Golf to the mix. You played? Nintendo Switch Sport? What did you go to? you can play Nintendo Switch Sport now on Nintendo Switch.
