I remember when Attach the block was first released in theaters. It was such a beautiful and fun cinematic experience that it was completely unexpected. It happened over a decade ago and there was talk of a sequel developed by the writer and director Joe from Cornwall and star John Boyega.
Boyega recently offered an update on the sequel revealing that he is alive and well and they are still working on it:
“We’re in the lab. We’re cooking, we’re cooking. I sat with Joe Cornish just a few weeks ago. So expect some news soon. We’re still in development but we’re cooking something real sweet. We’ll have something soon.”
This is great news! I was curious to see how this crazy alien invasion science fiction story would continue into a sequel. I liked the first movie so much, but it looks like it would have had a different feeling with all those grown up kids now. But there is no doubt that it would still be fun! It is unknown if any of the other stars from the original film will return for the sequel, as far as we know this next film may only focus on Boyega. The actor said last year in a statement:
“It’s been ten years since then Attach the block was released and a lot has changed since then. I am thrilled to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favorite characters to play and bringing him back is a great honor. “
Cornish added:
“I am thrilled to officially announce our return to the world of Attach the block on the 10th anniversary of the film’s release. I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing an even bigger slice of the alien action in urban centers to the public. “
