After revolutionizing the contemporary horror genre with ‘Let me out’ and ‘Us’, Jordan Peele intends to continue to establish himself as one of the big names in auteur cinema with ‘NOP’, his new film which, according to initial reactions, is “the most ambitious” up to date. But the thing doesn’t stay there. After the Los Angeles premiere, some of the comments compared Peele and his treatment of science fiction and horror with Steven Spielberg himself. This is the level.

Expectations are very high. And not least, because ‘Let me out’, his debut film, won four Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. On this occasion, Daniel Kaluuya is back on the net with Peele to play OJa villager who sees his father (Keith David) die under strange circumstances and decides to find out, along with his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer), what is happening to that giant cloud.
Collider’s editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub declined to go into details to avoid spoilers, but already anticipates that it is a big yes and highlights the work of its cinematographer, Hoyte Van Hoytemawho has participated in Christopher Nolan films such as “Tenet”, “Dunkirk” or “Interstellar”. “I’m not going to spoil any aspect of Jordan Peele’s ‘NOP’, but it’s a * big * yes. And Hoyte Van Hoytema shot the film using IMAX cameras, so if you see it, do it in IMAX.”.
It will not spoil any aspect of @Jordan Peele‘S #NopeFilm except to say * big * thumbs up.
And cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema shot the film using @IMAX cameras so if you’re going to see #no watch it on IMAX. Hoytema had already shot “Tenet”, “Dunkirk” and “Interstellar”. pic.twitter.com/92z9udtRMT

CNN’s Frank Pallota says the film is “Out of this world” and compares Pelee to the big names in the industry. “‘NOP’ is out of this world. A monstrous mash-up with great performances (especially Kaluuya) and a 1950s-style sci-fi invasion storyline. A show about the horrors of the shows. Peele has been compared to Alfred Hitchcock, but “NOP” shows a new generation John Carpenter. Enjoy the show and don’t look up “.

For his part, People’s Nigel Smith agrees with his peers in claiming to be a “yes sensational”. “You have to see it on the largest screen you can find. An exciting and strange show like no other. I will never look at the sky the same way again”.
#NopeFilm it’s a resounding YES. Watch it on the largest screen you can find. An exciting and weird sight unlike anything else out there. I will never look at the sky the same way again.

“Absolutely phenomenal” that’s how Heather Wixson of Daily Dead News describes the film. “‘NOP’ is absolutely phenomenal in so many ways. It perfectly combines a science fiction show with a story that is also a kind of Hollywood showdown.. She has exceeded my expectations. Superbly shot, the sonic mix is thunderous and the cast shines. I love him, I love him, I love him. “

Unlike the rest of the critics, it seems that Huffington Post’s Candice Frederick still has a lot to understand. “I don’t know how you got such quick reactions to “NOP”. I still have it in my head”.
I’m not sure how you can find such a quick reaction #NopeFilm. I’m still in my head about it.

Ambitious but … in what sense?
For his part, one of the members of the Hollywood Critics Association described him as the most ambitious director to date, but not in the best way. “‘NOP’ is Jordan Peele’s most ambitious film to date, but also his weakest. The first act is superb but in the second it loses strength and becomes a bad film by M. Night Shyamalan with elements of Spielberg. Lacks concentration with a story that never comes to fruition “.
No is Jordan Peele’s most ambitious film, but also the weakest. The first act is superb, but in the second it loses ground and becomes a bad M. Night Shyamalan film with elements of Spielberg. It lacks a sense of focus with a story that was never fully realized. #NopeFilm
