We don’t really see enough collectibles made based on the fantastic creature designs of the legendary director and artist Ray Harryhausen. Well today we have a new statue of Star Ace Toys and X-Plus of Harryhausen’s Medusa from the classic 1981 film Clash of the Titans.
The Soft vinyl Medusa statue is part of Star Ace Toys and X-Plus’ Ray Harryhausen 100th Anniversary Collection.
I am a huge fan of Clash of the Titans and one of my favorite pasts is when Perseus leads a group of warriors on the island at the edge of the Underworld to kill the gorgan Medusa. Perseus’ entire plan was to kill her and use her head with the mortal gaze to defeat the Kraken and save her beloved Andromeda from being sacrificed to the titan to appease the Olympians.
The Medusa statue is nearly 12 inches tall. It features Medusa holding a bow and arrow. There will be a regular version and a deluxe version. With the Deluxe version, you get a diorama display base with a flaming column and a warrior turned to stone.
There are no pricing details yet, but pre-orders should be posted shortly.
