With the end of the third season of “The Boys”, it is time to prepare the next steps of the franchise based on the comic books by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. In addition to the fourth season of the main series and the animated spin-off “The Boys Presents: Diabolical”, Amazon Prime Video is preparing another series, which until now we knew as “The Boys Presents: Varsity”.
This second spin-off, which will be in real action, has as its main setting a university created by Vought that only superheroes can attend. It has been described as a mix between a university series and ‘The Hunger Games’, all seasoned with the “secret sauce” of ‘The Boys’: satire, violence, irreverence, profanity and sex. In the series we will see aspiring Supers compete for the best contracts with Vought and somehow we will meet “The Boys”.
The protagonists
Amazon revealed this the official title of the series will be ‘Gen V’, and released a video in which the protagonists show up and warn us that our heads are about to explode. The main cast will include Lizzie Broadway, Chance Perdomo, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Jaz Sinclair, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Sean Patrick Thomas and Marco Pigossi.
The series, which does not yet have a preview date on the streaming platform, will star Michele Facetas and Tara Butters as showrunners.while Eric Kripke, showrunner of “The Boys”, will be part of the executive producer team, who will also return with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, among others.
