Lionsgate has released a trailer for an upcoming detective thriller titled Road to Heaven, and it looks like a great movie! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that the film has a fantastic cast it includes Juliet Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient, Danno) as a truck driver, Morgan Freeman as an FBI agent, Cameron Monaghan (Jedi: order fallen), Franco Grillo, Hala FinleyAnd Christiane Seidel.
The film is “set in the trucking industry and its involvement in the unhealthy underbelly of human trafficking. When her brother’s life is threatened, Sally (Binoche), a truck driver, reluctantly agrees to smuggle illicit goods: a girl named Leila (Finley). As Sally and Leila embark on a perilous journey across state lines, a stubborn FBI agent (Freeman) sets out on their trail, determined to do whatever it takes to end a human trafficking operation and bring Sally. and Leila to safety. “
This is definitely a very different type of role for Binoche to take on, but it looks like he gets it right! The film is directed by Anna Gutto, who is making his directorial debut. The movie will download to VOD, but it looks like a quality movie!
Road to Heaven will be released in select US theaters and on VOD starting July 29, 2022. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
