SPOILER attention!
* This article contains spoilers for the third season finale of “The Boys”.
“The Boys” concluded its third season on July 8 on Amazon Prime Video. As we already knew, the series has already been renewed for a fourth season, which does not yet have a release date. However, Eric Kripke, showrunner of “The Boys”, has already revealed the details on the basis on which the next episodes will be based. Be careful, we will be talking about the moments of the end of the third season, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you should leave this article for later.

As we saw at the end of the chapter, Patriot (Antony Starr), Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Butcher (Karl Urban) faced off in an epic battle at Vought Tower, and Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) witnessed it all. Eventually he ends up leaving with his father, who decides to introduce him to the world. When Patriot kills a protester against him, we see Ryan sporting a smile worthy of his father. It will be the cornerstone of the fourth season.
Here’s how Eric Kripke explains it to Collider: “Moving forward, Ryan is a really important part. Both Butcher and Patriot have very good reasons to fight for Ryan, because the challenges couldn’t be greater. If Ryan follows the path of the Patriots and there are two Patriots in the world, it would be a nightmare for the planet.. If Butcher manages to lure Ryan into the light, it would probably be the best weapon they have against Patriot. It’s always been a show about family, and a lot of season 3 has been about parents, so I think it makes sense that season 4 is about the child.S “.
In another interview with Variety, he comments on the consequences of the public murder committed by Patriot: “It’s just an idea taken to the extreme that the more hideous public leaders act, the more fans they can add. And there was always this saying that Trump could shoot a man on Fifth Avenue and he wouldn’t lose any supporters. So we were like ‘let’s do this, get Patriot to kill a guy on Fifth Avenue and find out what the reaction is.’ And that’s right. It’s like that campaign video where the guy actively says he’s going to hunt down people with his semiautomatic he and hunt down open private residences to hunt him down, and people cheer him on. For us, unfortunately, he wasn’t too far from what might actually happen. “.
A butcher more kamikaze
There is also the matter of Butcher reducing his life expectancy to just a few months after taking so much Time Compound V: “This guy has such clear goals that on his best day he pursues them to an incredibly insane level. Now that he feels that his time is up and that he may only have one last chance, I suppose he will take him further for immorality because he feels his mortality.. For a character like him, it’s very dangerous. “ says the creator of the series.
Kripke talks about the tone of the series: “I started to go through the first drafts of the first two chapters. We are still in the early stages, I think in the middle of episode 3 and I am already reading the draft of the first episode. And even at that point, we are at the beginning because they are waiting for us. ” she rewrites hard and decides everything. But it’s super interesting, fun, and really emotionally rich. It’s probably the most emotionally complex thing we’ve ever done.. So far, this has been my biggest feeling. Everyone is faced with deep dilemmas, so it’s very exciting, it’s a very character-driven season. “.
The idea is that they can start shooting episodes at the end of August, so we should have the fourth season of “The Boys” on Amazon Prime Video next year.. ‘Varsity’, the first spin-off of this dysfunctional superhero universe, is also underway.
