Unexplored it was, in my opinion, easily one of the worst films of the year. I thought it was awful, and I just don’t understand how they could have ruined that movie so much because they had a perfect project to follow. Despite that, people still flocked to see it and it had some success at the box office.
According to a new report from The Ankler, Sony sees Uncharted as a film franchise and a sequel should be made with Tom Holland returning in the role of Nathan Drake. Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman he said he was “excited” for another Unexplored film in a recent internal note. He also says they “are counting on him [Holland]”to” anchor “the Uncharted movie franchise in the future. The report says:
“Yes, Uncharted is a franchise now. Sony hasn’t officially confirmed a sequel, but the film did very respectable deals for the pandemic, grossing $ 400 million worldwide, and the Netherlands has discussed the likelihood of a sequel in previous interviews. The studio was unusually quiet, but as Uncharted is currently the third highest-grossing video game adaptation nationwide and fourth worldwide, you can safely assume another Nathan Drake adventure is. Ultimately, it’s Rothman’s call, but in his President’s Day memo to colleagues, he seemed excited about another installment. “
The Unexplored the game series is one of the most cinematic game franchises around. Unfortunately, the first movie didn’t come close to the level set by the game’s franchise. I absolutely don’t want to watch anymore Unexplored movie. Sony just approached the whole thing the wrong way.
What do you think? Did you like it Unexplored? and can’t wait to see a sequel with Holland as Nathan Drake?
