Hollywood is mourning the death of Giacomo Canon, the famous actor who played Sonny Corleone in one of the most classic films of American cinema, ‘The Godfather’. The artist died at the age of 82, leaving a legacy in the acting industry.

Through social networks, the James Cann’s family has announced the actor’s death the night of July 6. On the other hand, they made it clear that they wanted people to be able to respect privacy at a difficult time like this to experience their pain.

The causes of his death have not been revealed, but the family’s decision to keep this fact in something that concerns them as close friends of the actor will have to be respected. The first time James Caan was in front of the cameras as an actor was with “Games” and eight films later he ended up as Sonny Corleone in “The Godfather” by Fracis Ford Coppola, his big leap to stardom that catapulted him to Hollywood until he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Since that film, he has gradually been seen in other great productions that have made him a name in the world of cinema and television.

‘Cinderella Liberty’, ‘Rollerball’, ‘Harry and Walter Go to New York’, ‘A Bridge Too Far’, ‘Comes A Horseman’ and ‘Chapter Two’ were some of the films that came after ‘The Godfather’ and with which many people began to recognize his work. Thus becoming one of the most popular of his time.

Later came other big hits like Paul Sheldon’s ‘Misery’, and then another like ‘Miel Luna para Tres’, in which he shared the lead role with Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicolas Cage; and, of course, ‘Eraser’, where he starred opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger.
