Legendary actor James Caan passed away at the age of 82. The sad news was announced by the family saying: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of Jimmy’s disappearance on the evening of July 6th. The family appreciates the outpouring of affection and the deepest condolences and asks you to continue to respect their privacy in this difficult time “. No information was provided on the cause of his death.
James Caan was a very talented actor and one of my all time favorite roles was that of Paul Sheldon in Rob Reinerthe adaptation of Stephen King’S Misery. He was really cool in that movie, and I think it’s one of the best performances of him.
Caan has also starred in films such as The godfather, the elf, the gambler, the thief, and many other films. He found fame playing Chicago Bears midfielder Brian Piccolo in the 1971 TV movie Brian’s song.
This is a sad day, but he will be remembered for his incredible work as an actor. Condolences to his family and friends. Here are some of the Hollywood reactions that have been posted on social media:
Director Francis Ford Coppola he told Deadline: “Jimmy was someone who stretched my life longer and closer than any movie figure I’ve ever known. From those early days we worked together The people of the rain, and during all the milestones of my life, his films and the many great roles he has played will never be forgotten. He will always be my old friend from Sunnyside, my co-worker and one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. “

Rest in peace James Caan. There are so many movies of him that I love, The Godfather movies are obviously on top, but here are others that I love (Thief in particular was a Gunn family classic – I had the poster on the wall in high school). 🙏❤️ pic.twitter.com/mhrtGMzB0S

Well, that just sucks for James Caan. I was lucky enough to work with him and to be friends. Always a fun guy to be with. He has always supported my career. He also made a cameo on my TV special and involved Robert Duvall. A highlight of my career. God bless James Caan.

James Caan always had the funniest stories. He once told me that Coppola used to take food off his plate and eat it, so one day he made a very hot jalapeños sandwich between two pieces of buttered bread and waited outside Coppola’s airflow. …

Hollywood saw James Caan as a tough guy. There was a lot more underneath that tough exterior. He had tremendous empathy, as demonstrated in his extraordinary portrayal of Sonny Corleone. I always thought he would die for love. RIP https://t.co/xa6p9WZcty

I once passed James Caan to the commissioner of Paramount Pictures. He looked at me in Data’s makeup and uniform and said only one word: “Work?” Honored. RIP

James Caan swooping in during the flashback scene at the end of The Godfather Part II is one of the great revelations of all time. You can practically hear the audience cheering. RIP to a real one. https://t.co/6sNDLyOwHX

RIP James Caan, 82.
Brilliant actor – loved him as Sonny Corleone in The Godfather, such a fierce, menacing and magnificent performance. He met him once at a party in Los Angeles and he was a very funny and very funny man. Bad news. pic.twitter.com/vi4oI36v4l– Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) July 7, 2022
