The shark attack thriller The Reef: Haunted is coming to Shudder, and they have released a new trailer and announced that the film will be released on the streaming service on July 29th.
The film serves as a sequel to the 2010 film The cliff. The director of the first film, Andrea Trauckiis back to write and direct the sequel.
The first film is described as “one of the best shark attack horror films ever made, a simple story of friends stranded in shark-infested waters, made all the more terrifying by Traucki’s insistence on using real sharks rather than animatronic or computer- generated ones “.
I love that he threw his actors into real shark-infested waters to shoot this movie.
In the sequel, “Nic, in an attempt to heal after witnessing the horrific murder of her sister, goes to a tropical resort with her friends for a kayaking and diving adventure. Within hours of their expedition, the women are persecuted and then attacked by a great white shark. To survive they will have to unite and Nic will have to overcome her post-traumatic stress, face her fears and kill the monster. “
Traucki said in a statement: “I want to give the public a tense and thrilling adrenaline rush. I strongly believe that the best way to achieve this is to use suggestion rather than revelation. The real fear in this story isn’t a threatening shark, but wonders where that shark might be and will it attack? In other words, as in life, the fear and tension in The Reef: Stalking will come from the unknown and uncertainty, from what you can’t see rather than what you can. “
The Reef: Haunted stars Teresa Liane (the Vampire Diaries), Ann Truong (Cowboy Bebop), Saskia Archer (Boshack), Kate Lister (Clickbait) And Tim Ross (Wonderland). Check out the new trailer.
