The third season of The Umbrella Academy it’s been out for a little over a week, and after nearly two years of waiting, fans are happy to have it back. The show follows the titled “brothers” academy, a group of people born on the same day to young mothers who weren’t pregnant at the start of the day. This led to a rich weirdo named Reginald Hargreeves to adopt as many children as possible and start a superhero academy.
Since then, the group has gone through some great growing pains and had to stop the world from finishing a handful of times, with various consequences. Now, let’s hope for more seasons, and the showrunner of the series, Steve Blackmangave TheWrap an update on its future:
“I think inevitably if we have a season 4, it will go towards the end of the game. I think at some point I’m not sure where we will go after season 4. We have to be careful. My plan for next year is not to continue walking on the same ground as before. It’s a challenge to find a new way to subvert this storyline and I think we have an idea of how to do it. But I think if we get to season 4, it would be a great ending to the show. I’m not saying I couldn’t do more, but you know, I think it would be very satisfying for the audience, four seasons.
The showrunner added that he has already launched his own Umbrella Academy Season 4 plans for Netflix, saying it has known the story of the four seasons for some time. It’s smart for a show to get the better of it, and it’s smart for creators not to drag their ending, as it would be devastating to be canceled before a show can finish telling its story. I hated it when it happened to other great series. I hope The Umbrella Academy will be able to tell the whole story it’s intended for, as it’s such a fun and well-written show.
