Chris Claremont Worked on Creepy X-Men for 17 years and now he’s back for another try with the mutants. Marvel Comics recently announced that he will be returning to write a new series starring my favorite character and his co-creation, Gambit. Claremont was joined for Gambit by the rising star artist Sid Kotian for a limited series of 5 issues that explores some time before he was an X-Man.
GAMBIT will be a five-issue limited series that invites fans to go back to the thrilling time when Gambit and a Storm of Ages forged an eternal bond as they stealthily made their way down the Mississippi River!
The series will bring to light a wide range of untold adventures, from an encounter with the Shadow King to a series of terrestrial and out-of-this-world adventures, which will give Claremont the chance to further explore Gambit’s path to becoming a heroic X too. -Man as they reveal new insights into his other signature character, Storm, at a pivotal moment in his story.
Speaking of why he decided to write about this time, Claremont told AiPT Comics:
Because I considered it somewhere that offered the opportunity for a lot of fun for all involved. Think about it: who notices children? The way Remy dresses, not to mention his amazing body and his gorgeous looks, most of the time all eyes turn to him. [Kid] ‘Ro remains functionally invisible. Target looks at Remy, ‘Ro slips into his pocket. But the real reason, frankly, is that the story turned out to be a lot more fun that way.
Fans can read Gambit # 1 on July 27th. The comic will feature a main cover of While Portacio And Alex Sinclair with variants available from Salvador Larroca And Edgar Delgado, In Hyuk Lee, Momoko with peachAnd Scott Williams with Sebastian Cheng. Espen Grundetgern did the colors for the problem and VC Clayton Cowles he made the letters.
