Amazon released the director’s first trailer Ron Howardthe upcoming film Thirteen lives, which tells the true story of the 12-member Thai youth soccer team that found themselves stranded in a flooded cave for 18 days. This story has caught the world’s attention and feels like an incredibly intense and nerve-wracking movie!
The movie stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, And Joel Edgerton as three members of the British and Australian diving team who managed to recover all twelve children and their football coach.
In the true story of Thirteen lives, “Twelve boys and the coach of a Thai football team explore the cave of Tham Luang when an unexpected storm traps them in a chamber inside the mountain. Buried behind a maze of flooded underground tunnels, they face impossible difficulties. A team of world-class divers navigates through miles of dangerous cave networks to find that finding the boys is only the beginning.
The actors actually underwent extensive scuba training for the film and, speaking of his experience with it, Mortensen said: “One thing Rick [one of the divers training the cast for the film] kept talking was: ‘Remember to breathe calmly. Check your breathing. The more nervous you are and the more shallow breathing you are, the more you are consuming all the air. “
At one point during filming, the actor had a scary moment and shared, “I was able to get through this tough time, but I really had a moment where I started breathing fast, and I was like [imitates trying to breathe]and there was nothing. “
He went on to say, “There were a lot of places so tight you just had to squirm. Sometimes you had to take off your tank … while you were underwater, without breaking away from the air – so go through this swing zone, [and] put the tank. Do all this calmly. We had two tanks. If something went wrong with one, be calm. Don’t go crazy, because you can drown in seconds. Once you’ve gone mad and swallowed some water, you’re done. Even if it’s a movie … no one can reach you fast enough, and so on. “
Damn, keep that in mind when watching this trailer! Thirteen lives will premiere on Prime Video in August 2022.
