The filming of ‘Barbie’ continues and the film directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie does not stop giving us production images more colorful and surprising every time. Although only two official Warner Bros. movie images have been released so far, one of Barbie (Robbie) and one of Ken (Gosling), photographers are working overtime to bring us new glimpses of what’s happening on set.
After seeing Robbie dressed in a nightclub look with pink flared pants (obviously) and dressed in cowboy style with his boyfriend, Ken, we now have new images from the beach of venicea Los Angeles beach town, where filming is currently underway.
In the photos, taken on Monday 27 June, we see Robbie and Gosling in the most colorful look of the “plastic” couple, with sportswear (including visors) in psychedelic neon tones and neon yellow knee pads and shoes.

As the PopCrave Twitter account indicates, the aspect in question is a direct reference to a specific Barbie, Hot Skatin ‘Barbie, edition of the doll released in 1994, and we clearly see that it was the inspiration for the scene. Directed by Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”, “Little Women”) and co-written by her with Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story”), “Barbie” will be released in cinemas around the world on July 21, 2023.
Accompanying Robbie and Gosling, the film features a stellar cast including Emma Mackey, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae and Ariana Greenblatt, including it is rumored that some will play different versions of Barbie and Ken.
