Anime has been a priority for Netflix for a couple of years and has brought industry classics like “Naruto” or “One Piece” to its catalog. The latter entered service in 2020 and has since integrated new chapters, although it wasn’t until 2022 that it began releasing batches of preview episodes featuring the Money D. Luffy story.
The Anime “One Piece” created by Eiichiro Odapremiered in the 1990s and has since continued to be broadcast today throughout the 2020s, to the point that it already has more than a thousand episodes released on Japanese television and streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll.
However, in other services like Netflix, it is far behind … even if in the first months of 2022 the streaming giant showed a little more commitment to the fans of this success. adventure anime starring Monkey D. Luffy and revealed that during that year it would premiere at least eight seasons of the series in its catalog.
The revelation took many of the series’ fans by surprise after its premiere on the streaming platform only released 60 chapters, but now as of June 2022, Netflix has 263 episodes of “One Piece” and it is expected that in July of the same year another batch of episodes will be released that continue Luffy’s adventures in the ocean in search of lost treasures.
Netflix hasn’t revealed if more chapters of the popular anime will come out after July 2022, but it’s possible that, at least for a while, that won’t happen and audiences will have to wait as it did two years earlier. Although, due to the large number of episodes he has released in a short time, it is evident that he intends to search the entire series to reach his catalog.
“One Piece” isn’t just on Netflix
While Netflix has struggled to put “One Piece” in its catalog, there are other streaming platforms as well that have also sought to have the hit adventure anime in their offering. As in the case of HBO Max, although at the moment this service only has 130 chapters in its history.
On the other hand, you can also see it on Crunchyroll, which is the only streaming platform that has all its full episodes and which, moreover, usually releases the new chapters a few hours after its premiere in Japan with everything and subtitles in different languages.
