Julie Andrews doesn’t know the cast of ‘Bridgerton’, despite giving her voice for the series – Flix Nation Special (Netflix | AFP)
The hit Netflix series, ‘Bridgerton’, uses Julie Andrews’ voice for Lady Whistledown; it is she who tells everything that happens in the story and for the same reason she is never seen on the screen. Although she collaborated on the program for two years, the famous actress was never able to meet the entire team of the show, much less the main cast of the popular production.
From the very first chapters of “Bridgerton”, audiences recognized that the voice of the series narrator was Julie Andrews and that she was Lady Whistledown; although it was later discovered that, in the plot of the story, it was Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) who brought the love life writer of the English Regency elite to life.
While audiences have acknowledged that the “Princess Diaries” actress was part of the hit Netflix series, they have never been seen in front of the cameras and until now is not expected to ever happen. That is, she will continue as a narrator during the next installments of the series.
The truth is that for Julie Andrews, keeping this role was like having a home office – she just records her portion in the booth and comes home, so she basically doesn’t live with anyone from the production and He didn’t even get a chance to meet the “Bridgerton” cast.. The actress confessed to Today that she has, at the time, only had contact with the program’s creator, Shonda Rhymes.
Shonda Rhimes and the whole gang … They’re great, but I’ve never met them the company in person sometimes I see them on the show. But I do all my recordings far, far away from them. “
The two Lady Whistledowns of “Bridgerton”
Although there is only one Lady Whistledown in ‘Bridgerton’, she is played by two actresses: Nicola Coughlan and Julie Andrews. The former brings it to life on screen and the latter only in voice, although each plays an important role in the series … at least in the first season of the successful Netflix production.
Originally Julie Andrews’ voice for Lady Whitledown was necessary so that no one knew who this character was and who was behind the writings on the love life rumors of the elite Regency England society: the mystery had to remain both within of the story itself and for the spectators.
The truth is that at some point in history this is revealed Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) as Lady Whistledown and begins to lose the sense that Julia Andrews’ voice continues to be heard. Although, so, at least it differs a bit from acting to narrative and story and it is possible that it will continue like this until the series ends on the streaming platform.
