Stranger things actor Matteo Modine signed to join the cast of the cycling drama Difficult miles. “The film is based on the true story of Colorado’s Ridge View Academy cycling team, which for decades has given young people at risk a second chance through academic rigor, targeted treatment, competitive sports and leadership. Modine will play Greg Townsend, who has led the Ridge View team for the past 30 years. “
The Ridge View Academy was conceptualized by the Colorado Division of Youth Services in the mid-1990s as a means of responding to the steadily increasing number of underage criminals in the state. The charter school opened its doors in 2001 and has since helped put more than 4,300 young people on the right track ”. 2021 Academy Nicholl Fellow RJ Daniel Hanna is directing Difficult miles from a script he wrote together with Christian Sander.
Modine will soon be seen in season 4, part 2 of Stranger things on Netflix on July 1st.
