Lucasfilm’s OBI-WAN KENOBI series was a missed opportunity to tell a great STAR WARS story

When I saw the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Celebration series with thousands of Star Wars fan was a great experience, and I really enjoyed those episodes, watching them in that atmosphere. Even after reviewing them, I thought the first two episodes were a good start, and while they had their problems, I overlooked them in hopes that things would work out over the course of the series.

Unfortunately, this did not happen. For me, the series got worse as it went on. I didn’t care about the story being told and some of the creative decisions didn’t make any sense. Indeed, there was a lack of common sense throughout the whole series, and it was silly for me to watch seemingly intelligent and bright characters making stupid decisions. The series was plagued by weak scripts.

For me, the most important thing in a movie and a TV series is the story, and that was really tough and mediocre. Anthony Bourdain is said to have said, “The greatest sin is mediocracy,” and that is it Obi-Wan Kenobi is. I know there are a lot of fans out there who love this show, but I’ve seen much better stories told in Star Wars franchise, and this series could and should have been so much better!

After each episode of this series, I would watch a couple of episodes of Star Wars the battle of the clonesespecially from last season, and it would remind me of what a great thing Star Wars the narrative seemed. Obi-Wan Kenobi didn’t come close to that level. But Dave Filoni and his creative team have shown that it can be done.

Sure, the show had some really great moments which was fun to watch! But with each interesting moment, there were a number of other things that made me roll my eyes in disappointment. It disappointed me because I was insanely excited for this series! Before its release, I even defended it against people who didn’t think it was going to be a good show! I wanted this show to be great because I believed there was a great story to tell! Unfortunately, the creative team behind the series didn’t tell that great story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi it was a missed opportunity. I mean, they brought Ewan McGregor And Hayden Christensen return to reprise their roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader! Seeing these two characters face off again after all these years was something I was insanely excited about! But in the end, it was lackluster and forgettable. Just a couple of guys throwing rocks at each other. I don’t know, a lightsaber fight scene with these two characters shouldn’t be boring!

As for the bad Reva, aka The Third Sister. At first she was a promising villain and I liked her Moses Ingram in the role. But I just didn’t care about her character arc. It wasn’t very interesting and it wasn’t very clear what was happening to her and her motives. Then there’s the fact that she survived being hit by a lightsaber … twice! Once as a child and once as an adult, which is just ridiculous to me. The Grand Inquisitor was also stabbed with a lightsaber and survived. It’s like lightsabers are meaningless now.

The Grand Inquisitor states in the series that revenge works wonders for the will to live, indicating that this is how he and Reva survived their multiple lightsaber stabbings. Really. All it does is reduce the impact of how lethal a weapon the lightsaber should be.

As for the end of the series and the last scene, which I won’t spoil you, it looked like it was thrown there just to indulge the fans.

The series was just a tough watch for me because I know it could have been better. There are many things I could set aside. This is just my opinion. If you liked the series, that’s great! I’m not going to argue with you or try to make you dislike! Many people enjoyed it! I don’t understand, because it looks like they were watching a different show than mine, but here are some things that people say they liked. Just to show you another side of the coin. Apparently, many of these people haven’t looked The Mandalorian.

What have you all thought of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series?
