I really hope so Scott Derricksonthe next horror movie The black phone it is a success. I loved the film and it may be the director’s best film to date. The film currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so critics love it! The big question is … what will the audience think?
I think if people show up to watch the movie, they will be surprised at how good it is. It’s one of those films that I believe will live up to the hype it is currently getting.
If the movie is successful, Derrickson wants to do a sequel and he already has an idea he’s excited about. The story of the film is based on a short story written by Joe Hill, and Hill pitched the sequel idea to Derrickson. When he talks about it, he told CB:
“Joe Hill came up with a wonderful idea for a sequel Black phone that, if this movie goes well, I will. He had a great idea, I liked it a lot. Joe is very protective and personal about his material, but he came to me with the idea and I was like, ‘This is how you make a sequel to Black phone. It’s terrifying. ‘”
Of course, he won’t reveal any details on the idea, but after seeing the first movie, I’m completely ready for a sequel!
In the first film, “Finney Shaw, a shy but intelligent 13-year-old boy, is kidnapped by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is useless. When a disconnected phone on the wall starts ringing, Finney discovers he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims and are intent on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney. ”
The film stars Ethan Hawke as the Grabber, whom he joins Thames bricklayer in her first film role and Madeleine McGraw like Gwen. The film will be released in theaters on June 24, 2022.
