THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES Adds Another Round of Young Actors to Its Cast

Several new young actors have joined the cast of the prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. They include Nick Benson, Laurel Marsden, Lilly Cooper, Bell towers of the MoonAnd Hiroki Berrecloth. They join the previously chosen actors Tom Blyth, Rachel ZeglerAnd Josh Andrés Rivera.

“The prequel is set years before Coriolanus Snow (Blyth) became the ferocious president of Panem. The 18-year-old is the last hope for his endangered lineage, a once proud family that fell from grace on a post-war Capitol. As the 10th edition of the Hunger Games approaches, young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), the poor District 12 tribute girl. But, after Lucy Gray gets Panem’s full attention by defiantly singing during the harvest ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Combining their instincts for showmanship and newfound political expertise, Snow and Lucy’s race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird and who is a snake.

Benson will play Jessup, the District 12 tribute opposite Zegler’s Lucy Gray Baird; Marsden will play Mayfair Lipp, who puts Baird’s name in contention for the 10th Hunger Games; Cooper will play Arachne Crane, a District 10 tribute mentor; Steeples will play Dill, a District 11 tribute; and Berrecloth will play Treech, a District 7 tribute.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is expected to be released in 2023.
