Alamo Drafthouse Selects Former Harkins, AMC Executive Heather Morgan for New Role, Chief of Staff and Strategy –

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has selected Heather Morgan as the newly appointed Chief of Staff and Strategy, who reports to CEO Shelley Taylor and is tasked with “developing and implementing key strategic programs to move the organization forward.”

Morgan was most recently Vice President of Content and Programming at Harkins Theaters and previously was Vice President of Partnership and Film Finance at AMC Theaters Studio. He joins the Alamo as it expands, recently announcing the addition of seven new theaters across the country.

His mandate includes promoting corporate culture and building infrastructure to make each place unique “but relevant to the local community while improving the overall economy”; Strengthen and redefine relationships with exhibitors; And the ways the network can expand to support the film community, especially the emergence of new voices.

Morgan has been a frequent consultant to the exhibit industry on workforce-related issues, including leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational culture, including training for the National Association of Theater Owners. He has a PhD in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, a field that studies human behavior in the workplace.

She is also president of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation (the first woman in the role).
