Jeremy Allen White Teases a Bigger Team Role for Rotta the Hutt in THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU

Fans are eagerly awaiting the return of Mando and The Child to their next big screen Star Wars adventure film The Mandalorian and Grogu. In this new chapter of the couple’s lives, “The Evil Empire has fallen and Imperial warlords remain scattered across the galaxy.

As the newly formed New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, it has enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pasquale) and his young apprentice Grogu.”

But it looks like the duo might be more of a trio in the film, if a recent tease from the actor is to be believed Jeremy Allen White. The actor, who is at the height of stardom for starring in the hit series The bearin addition to playing beloved musician Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming biopic, he sat down The Graham Norton Show to discuss its role in the near future Star Wars movie.

White was asked about his experience in Galaxy Far, Far Away, in which he plays Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt. White responded, “That’s right. That’s dad,” he said after receiving a photo of Jabba.

“You know, it’s interesting… I can’t say too much about it, but no, I look a lot like the one in the movie. I just work on the voice, I don’t put any on, you know. He’s just a little broader, but still a Hutt. It’s him and The Mandalorian running together for a lot of the movie. Rotta can move fast.”

Who knows what might lead Rotta to join Mando and Grogu, but I’m excited to find out. They are an unlikely group of misfits, but they know the writer/director Jon Favreau is behind all this, I feel like we have fun at the movies.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
