Jamie Bell joins Andrew Garfield in Paul Greengrass’ epic historical drama THE UPRISING

Paul Greengrass is assembling a powerhouse cast for his next big historical drama. The director has officially renamed his long-in-the-works peasant uprising project, once known as The Rage, to The revoltand it promises to be one of his most ambitious films.

Join the rebellion I am Jamie Bell (Half a man), Cosmo Jarvis (War), Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary), AND Woody Normanno (Come on, come on). Their roles are still kept under wraps.

As previously announced, Andrea Garfield The film’s protagonist is the legendary figure who unleashes a ferocious rebellion against the oppressive government of King Richard II.

As England burns under the weight of tyranny, Garfield’s character rallies an army of ordinary people in a desperate fight for justice and survival. Catherine Waterston is also on board, completing an already stacked ensemble.

Behind the scenes, Jason Blum is producing via Blumhouse. Greengrass is moving The revolt fresh from the debut of his recent drama The lost busis now streaming on Apple TV.

Production on Uprising is now underway, and given its scale, cast and historical context, it’s shaping up to be an intense, character-driven epic that delves deep into the human cost of rebellion.

Fans of Greengrass’ kinetic storytelling style can expect something equally raw and emotional in this new project.
