While season 1 concluded great plots, it was not written to be definitive. Hawley explained: “This chapter is closed, but Yutani troops are landing. The balance of power has moved. These children have no idea what is coming”.
The ending ended with Wendy who bravely declared: “Now let’s govern”, a line that Hawley deliberately made to play with the expectations of the public.
He explained: “The last line of” now governs “is triumphant and edifying. But cut 10 minutes later … what will happen? So I like that he has that urgency in real time.”

As long as they let me tell stories in this tone of voice, I will tell stories in this tone of voice.”
