Charlie Kaufman He returned with something strange and beautiful. The Oscar winner director revealed the trailer of his new short film How to shoot a ghostwhich will be previewed by the competition at the Venice Film Festival.
The stars of the 27 -minute movie Jessie Buckley AND Josef Akiki Like two recently deceased young people who wander on the streets of Athens.
The official synopsis describes them as “one a translator, the other a photographer, were extraneous in life; in death they fight with the residue of their desires and errors. They wander together for the city, finding consolation in the difficult beauty of existence and its consequences.”
Kaufman spoke of returning to the Festival, saying: “I am so happy to go to Venice with how to shoot a ghost. It is an adorable festival that holds a very special place in my heart.
“Being John Malkovich was previewed in 1999, so Venice was decisive in launching my script career. And of course, we also had a great time in 2015 with Anomalisa.”
Buckley, who obtained an Oscar nomination for his performance in The lost daughtercontinues to build an impressive filmography with roles coming in Chloe Zhao’S Hamnet AND Maggie Gyllenhaal’S The bride! where the iconic role of Frankenstein’s bride assumes.
Akiki, an increasing Lebanese actor, was recently seen in Dwan kaoukjiAward -winning shorts Canary in a coal mine.

Kaufman’s work has always thrived in the strange space between life and death, memory and reality and How to shoot a ghost It seems a continuation of that exploration in a narrower and dreamlike form.
