Highlander’s long -awaited restart is preparing to be a great event for fans of action and imagination, with Henry Cavill enter the main role e Dave Bautista Officially confirmed as the legendary bad, the Kurgan.
Bautista has recently shared new details on the project, making fun of a film that pays homage to the original while providing a modernized action on a large -scale and modernized that according to him rival with the intensity of John Wick.
In an interview with Collider, Bautista explained that playing Kurgan was a dream role for years:

The production reached a delay after Cavill has undergone an injury, with the filming that should now continue in 2026. While fans have to wait a little longer, Bautista has assured that the payoff will be worth it. He praised the direction of Stahelski, saying:
“The action is on par with John Wick. It is much bigger than the original … it is quite new that you will not see the same thing. If you have seen the original, you will still not know what the story is.”
The original 1986 Highlander Connor Macleod followed, a Scottish warrior who discovers his immortality and must fight others like him to survive.
The restart, produced by Neal H. Moritzcharacterizes Cavill as lead with an impressive cast that includes Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max ZhangAND Marisa Abela.
Bautista’s comments suggest a bold mixture of tribute and reinvention. With a cast this strong and the pedigree of action of Stahelski, Highlander A new inheritance for the modern public honoring its roots of culture-classics could be carved out.
