Mark Hamill says that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni “Get Star Wars” and speak “the same language as George Lucas”

Mark HamillThe legendary actor behind Luke Skywalker recently shared his thoughts on how Jon Favreau AND Dave Filoni they carried on the spirit of Star Wars in their work on The Mandalorian AND Ahsoka.

Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Hamill praised the duo for capturing the essence of what George Lucas built. He explained:

“I think Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, boy, get Star Wars. They understand it. They are talking about the same language that George has done in a way that I questioned in the sequels.”

That connection to the vision and understanding of Lucas del Franchise is part of why Hamill agreed to return like Luke The Mandalorian Final of season 2.

For him, it was finally about exploring a chapter of Luke’s story that had disappeared. Hamill said,

“The reason why I did Mandalorian was that Luke had a beginning and an end. There was no means. It was like making a trilogy on James Bond as a boy who realized for the first time of the secret service and wanted to be part of it.

“The second part was that he trained to be an agent. The third part is gaining his license to kill – The end. No from Russia with love, Dr. No or Goldfinger. You have never seen Luke like a master Jedi at the height of his powers. He was the most idealist character of that series.

“It was someone who would take adversity and double and returned and marked his setbacks. We did not see any of this. So when I had the opportunity, I thought: ‘Damn, it’s wonderful.'”

Hamill also returned briefly in Boba Fett’s book For an episode centered on Luca in which he trained Gogu. But as for future appearances, Hamill does not expect to adapt to Luke again. He explained:

“I had my time. I am grateful, but I really think they should focus on the future and on all the new characters. And by the way, when I disappeared in [The Last Jedi]I left my clothes behind. And there is no way to appear like a ghost of the naked force. “

While Hamill can move away from the role, Star Wars It is not very slowing down. The Mandalorian and the Gogu It is destined to hit cinemas next May and Ahsoka’s season 2 is also coming.

It is clear that Hamill sees Favreau and strands as creative forces that bring the torch for Star WarsThe Galaxy for the new generations expands the Lucas Foundation.
