The photos of the Clayface set reveal Tom Rhys Harries as a bloody Matt Hagen and Max Minghella’s detective Gotham

We have fresh photos from set from ClayAnd they give us our first official look Tom Rhys Harries Like Matt Hagen, the man destined to transform himself into one of Batman’s most monstrous bad guys.

The images confirm what many suspected, showing Hagen bloody and hit while lengthening in a hospital after a brutal attack that leaves him disfigured.

The blows suggest that Hagen’s meeting with the mafia of Gotham kicks off to his tragic arch, at the end to the mysterious formula that will turn it into clay. His face is a mess of blood and bruises, marking the beginning of his terrifying transformation.

We are also receiving our first glance Max Minghella On the set. The actor, known for The social network AND The story of HandmaidHe is playing John, a Gotham detective who begins to suspect that the relationship of his boyfriend Caitlin with Hagen is more than a professional.

Caitlin is interpreted by Naomi Ackie (Blink twice, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Mickey 17), a Biotech CEO that treats Hagen after his attack. Despite the online chatter, she is not the actress Minghella with the filming in these photos, who adds another level of intrigues to how these relationships will take place.

Another nice detail sighted on the set is the motto of the Gotham City Court “Sic Parvis Magna” (“Small -sized size”), the same phrase seen in Matt Reeves The Batman. While Clayface is firmly set in the DCU and not in the Batverse of Reeves, shared detail is a clean connective tissue for the construction of the world of Gotham.

For fans of comics e Batman: the animated seriesThere are clear influences from both. In the comics, Hagen was the second clay, an adventurer transformed by a radioactive pool of protoplasm.

The animated series reinvented it as an actor using an experimental anti-aging cream that was in the end it was changed in the grotesque villain after crossing Roland Daggett. From what we are seeing, this film seems to pull from the animated grip, especially with Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan) It was said to interpret the Hagen manager.

This aligns with what DC Studios James Gunn’s co-ceno recently said about how Clayface has made its way in “Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters”. Gunn explained:

“Well, I think it was just that we needed DCU content. Mike Flanagan He is someone with whom I have been friendly for a long time and he wrote me on Clayface. He sent me a message very early on my DC trip. “

“Only being honest, I didn’t think it was something that would happen, but it entered and launched the idea and I was like” Oh shit! It’s nice. “It’s a body’s horror film.

“It is a horror movie that, like any horror film of the fantastic body, seems to be in the DCU. And then wrote the script, and the script was fantastic. We were not going to do Clayface.”

Clay He is preparing to be a dark addition and led by the character to the DCU blackboard.
