James Gunn reveals that season 2 of the peacemaker was originally very different until Superman changed everything

Pacifier Season 2 is going to places that nobody expected, not even James Gunn. With the next season that immerses himself in the profit in the emotional wreck left in the wake of SupermanGunn shared that his original plan for the series was drastically different. But once he finished writing SupermanEverything has changed.

The new season of Pacifier collect with John Cena ‘S Chris Smith still takes care of the relapse of his past. He is trying to find some inner peace, but it’s not easy when Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. is shooting for revenge. His son, Rick Flag Jr., was killed by Paciforatore in SuicideAnd now Flag Sr. is chasing the responsible man, who is also in possession of the quantum turning point (quc), a portal for another dimension once owned by his father, the white dragon (Robert Patrick).

“I intend to make a life in the other world,” says Chris in the trailer, which reveals glimpses of a strange alternative dimension where Pacifier It is seen as “a true hero”.

Meanwhile, Flag Sr. is putting together a task force to close a dimensional crack, the same type of rift that crossed the metropolis after Superman’s events.

But Pacifier Season 2 did not always seem like this. Initially, Gunn had a very different story in mind. He shared:

“Initially, the first time I wrote an approximate profile of season 2, a very difficult scheme had to do with other white supremacist superheroes who were looking for Peacemaker for killing his father because he was their partner.

“For me, he actually played a bit too much like the first season and I think I want to shoot the story a little more.”

Gunn did not want to recover the family ground. Instead, he decided to dig in Chris’ internal struggle and guilty from everything that went down in the first season.

“For the second season, I wanted Peacemaker to be this character who had to really face the branches of his actions in the first season and face his emotional reality of the demons he discovered.”

This means facing not only the people who is wounded, but also the trauma of his past how to accidentally kill his brother Keith when they were children, and later killing his father.

In the new season, we will see an alternative reality in which a Keith adult, played by David DenmanIt is still alive. That turning point opens an emotional arc that Gunn felt better to serve the character. Gunn added:

“How do you deal with [his demons]? And therefore this seemed to work much better for this.

The idea of incorporating an alternative dimension in Pacifier it did not solidified until Gunn wrote Superman. That film opened the concept of another reality, giving Gunn a new angle to work from.

“Once I wrote Superman and started entering Peacemaker, once I had the idea of the alternative size and how we would have faced this, I didn’t want to face it in a way we saw in Multiverse comics films. It is not Multiverse.”

“This is more like a novel that I really love: Philip Roth’s counter -forest. It is the idea of this other life that is very different from our life and how you deal with this [alternate] version.

“Peacemaker sees this reality which is like his – but better in every way – and so, how do you deal with this from an emotional point of view? And how does he deal with those ghosts of his past, of the people he loved and kills? This is what he is facing emotionally.”

Season 2 will bring fans to an intense and personal journey for the peacemaker, mixing an action of superheroes with an alternative surreal drama. Gunn’s new direction promises something more emotional and introspective than what happened before.
