James Gunn He is not wasting time in the meetings of the Hall of the Board of Directors who dream of the bonds of the Popcorn bucket. While fans hypothesized how involved the director on the commercial side of DC Studios, Gunn has just clarified things.
In a recent interview with Rainn Wilson for the interview magazine, Wilson joked about the complexity of the management of a study, launching a sarcastic question on the balance of creative work with corporate obligations such as “The new Tie-in AMC AMC of Aus of Superman”. Gunn laughed at him and clarified his real job.
“Listen, in all honesty, Peter Safran takes care of all difficult things. He is the boy who takes care of all the company aspects of everything. My work here is truly a creative force.
“I write, direct and I deal with other writers and directors on their projects and help to inaugurate the best I can.”
That creative role includes modeling the future of the DCU, from the notes of scripts to help to guide the tone and viewing of the films and series coming.
“My time is limited, so I can’t dedicate all the time I would like to say, [Clayface director] James Watkins o [Supergirl director] Craig Gillespie or Chris Mundy who work on the lanterns.
“I take many notes on cuts and notes on the scripts and then I try to put together what is the general plan with all these characters.”
I love the way he says that his time is limited, but manages to spend so much on social media to deal with fans and voices.
Since DC Studios was appointed Co-Cece together with Peter Safran in 2022, Gunn has not slowed down creatively. He directed SupermanHe is writing and showing the second season of Pacifierand supervising a list of films and shows that they make up the first chapter DCU.
So, while Peter Safran It manages the spreadsheets and offers, Gunn is blocked like the creative heart of the DCU, guiding the stories, modeling the tone and giving life to a new DC vision without being distracted by the boring company logistics.
