Chuck E. Cheese is growing and is launching Acodes for adults

Chuck E. Cheese is no longer just for birthday parties for children and embarrassing pizza parties. The iconic animatronic mouse and its crew are entering the world of adults with Chuck’s Arcade, a brand new spin-off designed specifically for adults.

The company is starting with ten Arcade of Chuck offices in the United States, including St. Petersburg, FL; TRUMBULL, CT; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, ok; Victor, New York; Buford, Ga; El Paso, tx; Nashua and Salem, NH; and St. Louis, mo. Each site is designed to be a heavy meeting point of nostalgia and heavy game.

This is not just a sincere attempt of reinvention. Chuck E. Cheese supports it all the way. According to the official version, Chuck’s Arcade “will combine the classic games and the new hottest games together with the iconic animatronic characters”, and will serve “a new destination in which nostalgia meets the future”.

“Chuck E. Cheese has spent decades to master the Arcade experience – is in our DNA,” he said David McKillipsCEO of Chuck E. Cheese.

“Thanks to the experience of our technical talented and the successful transformation of almost 500 fun centers all over the world, we built the operational and creative bases to bring our brand beyond our four traditional walls.

“Chuck’s Arcade is a natural evolution-a opportunity to extend our ARCADE inheritance in new formats involving both fans for life and a new generation through a well-kept mix of rough classics and avant-garde experiences.”

Each Chuck’s portico will even be “supervised” by one of the members of the Animatronic band and selected points will present an exclusive retro merch, including clothing of the old school logo, collectible toys, candies of news and reimbursement objects.

It is part of a wider strategy to draw on the economy of millennial nostalgia and Gen Z. If you grew up giving eating to the arcade games as a child while your slice of pizza has cooled, Chuck’s Arcade wants you behind.

So, while Chuck E. Cheese may have started as a reference point for birthday chaos, it is evolving, just like its audience. Now the question is that a animatronic mouse can still celebrate when the crowd orders craft beer and chasing high scores on a dance revolution machine? We are about to find out.
