Review: Audeze Maxwell Auricular makes the Premium game heard

Audeze recently sent me what is perhaps the best gaming ear that he has ever had the opportunity to try Xbox. The Audeze Maxwell headset is now available in two varieties (one for PlayStation with $ 299 MSRP and one for Xbox with $ 349 MSRP) and I am in love with it. Before really entering, I want to talk about some of the specifications.

Maxwell is equipped with an over-the-ear headphones and closed with 90 mm driver. It has a suspension range instead of the more typical adjustable band and is advertised to have a battery life of over 80 hours. As for connectivity, Maxwell can use Bluetooth 5.3, wired USB, 3.5 mm wired and a USB dongle with low latency wireless.

It also has xbox wireless through the USB dongle. Maxwell also offers filtration of integrated artificial intelligence noise for the microphone and the microphone EQ controls. In addition, the Xbox version is supplied with an incorporated license to Dolby Atmos for the optimal audio experience during games.

It is quite boring speech. Maxwell is absolutely incredible. The audio quality is absolutely fantastic. Everything seems so clear and clear. In combination with the fact that it is very comfortable to wear and it is just a fantastic ear. The padding they use for cups is only very comfortable but safe. The use of the suspension band actually works better to stay in the head when I fall over compared to any adjustable band headset.

Before the Maxwell, my only other Xbox headset was the Razer Kaira Pro. This was a decent headset, especially for the price. However, it is sure to say that Maxwell makes him explode from the water (although with a higher double price).

I recorded some samples using Kaira Pro, Maxwell and my PC microphone, the Sentinel of Dark Matter. I had quite strong music in the background while I recorded each sample and I tested the external and internal microphones on both headphones and various levels of noise suppression on the Maxwell.

In my opinion, the sentinel offers the best audio quality, but it also passes a lot of background music. Maxwell is certainly in second place with the external boom microphone and has a much more silent background noise, also with the suppression of the noise off.

I want to take a minute to share Maxwell’s appearance of which I am not a fan. To use the headset with Xbox Series, you need to use Bluetooth (less preferred) or connect the dongle in (the favorite method). This is annoying (but not a game switch) for a couple of reasons. First of all, it only means that you have a dongle hanging from Xbox that is not always preferred, but put the USB ports on the console, so they could also use them. Secondly, if you need or want to use the dongle with other devices, then unplug it constantly and move it. For example, I wanted to use it wirelessly with my computer, but until about a week ago, my computer did not have bluetooth and therefore I had to move the dongle back and forth between my xbox and the computer.

Another minor sin on Maxwell is that it is boring. It is only black. Even if I don’t really want the RGB lights everywhere as many companies think, I would have liked a sort of model or accent of color. There is a version with limited edition floral motifs of the headset that seems better in my opinion, but it is not my flavor. I’m not a floral boy.

Returning to the positive aspects, the battery life on the Maxwell was incredible. I think maybe I connected it to load once at my time using it (about 2 weeks) and even then because I thought it could be beautiful and it was convenient to do it. In addition, the construction quality is pleasant. The Maxwell frame is made of aluminum and steel, which really helps to give it a premium sensation. Oh, and not to forget to mention it explicitly, you can connect this headset to practically anything. PC, mobile device, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PlayStation although the last two are limited connection options based on the ear model.

At the end of the day, Audeze Maxwell is an incredible, although expensive ear. If you can afford it, I would recommend it highly. I mentioned two hairs of Nitne but they are exactly this and they do not ruin the experience at all. I think the largest disadvantage is the price as for many it will be prohibitive. Maxwell can connect practically anything and is really comfortable with incredible audio (both speakers and microphone). This is a great victory, even if a little boring from a visual point of view.
