Beautiful ramseyFresh off battling Monsters infected with cordyceps in HBO The last of us Season 2, the actor appointed to themly is entering something equally intense, even if this time the monsters are human.

Ramsey will star in the new thriller Channel 4 in six parts Mayacreated by and co-protagonist Daisy Haggard (Back to life, breeders), which also makes its debut in the series in the series. The project was written specifically thinking about Ramsey.

In the series, “forced to a protective program of witnesses to escape a dangerous danger for life, Anna and Maya leave their London lives, taking on new identities and moving to a small rural city in Scotland.

“As they try to adapt to their new reality, the trauma of their past continues to persecute them in the form of two Hitmen intent on tracking them down. While the walls approach, it becomes clear that a dangerous figure of their past is still a looming threat.”

Ramsey said: “This story and these characters that Daisy has created are so alive, nuanced, evilly fun and poorly obscure. Each character jumps out of the page, the dialogue is incredibly witty and I am so enthusiastic about playing Maya alongside Anna di Daisy.”

Haggard, who created and written the show, said: “Since I dreamed of this show for the first time, there has never been a single Mayan … I wrote the part with beautiful so clearly in my head and honestly I still can’t believe that they want to be part of it.

“Beautiful is pure magic, only madly talented, and I can’t wait for us to work together. I am also enthusiastic about making the leap in the direction and enthusiastic about having the opportunity to co-see the series together with the brilliant Jamie Donoughue.”

While Maya is billed as a thriller, there is a healthy dose of humor and heart. The producers describe the show as “Cupically comic and have shot with the warmth and humor of the Haggard brand”, noting that explores “themes of male predatory behavior, family and love”, but in the center it is “a warm and witty celebration of the special and broken the shared bond between mother and daughter”.

Channel 4 Gemma Boswell Added: “We are thrilled to have beautiful to combine the cast of Maya. It is testimony to the argument and the depth of Daisy’s writing to attract talent so fantastic and we can’t wait to see Maya’s dynamics and Anna on the screen.”
