Hawley tells Sfx magazine in a recent interview:
“If you have a story about the monsters that arrive on earth, the question is: will humanity survive? Then the next question is: humanity deserves to survive?”
That question, on the fact that it is worth saving, guides the entire show. Set two years earlier AlienThe series explores a world on the edge of the main corporate domain, setting both an extraterrestrial threat and its worst impulses.
“This idea about humanity and the terrible things we do each other, really opened my mind on the types of horror that would populate the show. Not only the horror of the body or the horror of the creature, but also the moral horror of what people do.”
In other words, they are not just facehugger who should keep you awake at night and love the concepts they are trying to explore.
Hawley’s journey to get Alien: earth fact was not smooth. Initially he launched a very different idea:
