Magnolia Pictures has released a fantastic trailer for their documentary function Folktolesby filmmakers appointed to the Oscar Award Heidi Ewing AND Rachel Gratywhich previously did Jesus Campo, 12th and Delaware, Norman Lear: just another version of you, One of us, DogAND I take you with me.
The synopsis of the film recites: “In the Norse mythology, the three” Norns “are powerful divinities that intertwine the threads of fate and shape the future of humans. Today, the Pasvik Folk High School in northern Norway aims to produce such an effect that changes life on its students.
“Folktales tells the timely and moving story of teenagers who choose to spend an unconventional” sabbatical year “by learning to slip and survive the Arctic desert, in the hope of finding connection and meaning in the modern world.
“Guided by teachers of patients and a courtyard full of heroic Alaska huskies, they discover their potential and develop deep relationships with the earth, animals and humans around them.
“Through intimate truthful narration and exhilarating cinematography, Ewing and Grady examine humans on the cusp of adulthood, being on the margins of the world.”
It looks like a wonderfully made film, and it is really nice that it covers a place of which most of us has never heard of. The appearance of the photo of the photo is only the cherry at the top. I love dogs and these seem to really improve the life of the children with whom they connect.
