Like the long -awaited 28 days later Release gears, Alex Garland he returned as a screenwriter while Danny Boyle Back to direct. Despite the acclaimed career of Garland’s direction, which includes Ex machina, Annihilation, MenAND Civil warHe said to Comicbook that he had never even thought of taking the helm himself. He said:
“No. At that point I was certainly done with the direction and I wanted to write for other people. [That] It was one thing, but also, even if Danny had not wanted to do it … I think that if Danny had not wanted to direct him, he would probably have just finished at that point. And certainly I would not have wanted to intervene and, assume that role. “
For Ghirland, this trilogy works only if Boyle is at the helm. He added:
“It was not exactly the dynamics from which the original film was made. And the original film was the product of many people who worked together. Cast, crew and a little generally … but inside there was a sort of interaction between me and Danny. And this had to be true for this too.”
While fans could be surprised to hear that Garland describes himself as “made with the direction” when he was working on this film, he returned to that role and more recently he co-director War with Ray MendozaAnd now he has started to direct Elden Ring’s film for A24, so he clearly has a passion for directing.
