Retro trailer for the surreal and grotesque Body-Horror 1989 film society

The retro trailer of this week is for the 1989 horror movie Societydirected by Brian Yuzna. It is a surreal and grotesque mixture of the horror film and social satire.

The story follows Bill Whitney, a rich Beverly Hills teenager who begins to suspect that his family, and the world of high society that surround him, hide something left.

While the paranoia begins, Bill discovers a disturbing conspiracy that involves his parents, his sister and the beverly hills of Beverly Hills, who are part of a grotesque cult and that moves the form that literally feeds the lower classes.

The film gradually descends from the psychological thriller in a tone of a full -blown tone, culminating in a notoriously disturbing and surreal ending known as “The Shunting”.

Society It offers a wild and crazy criticism of the class division, the privilege and the parasitic nature of the upper class. It also has an exaggerated, almost cartoon grotteria, as it shows the elite as monstrous entities that support themselves by devouring the poor, both in a figurative sense and literally.
