Blumhouse officially closed the agreement to hire the Saw franchise, and with it comes a bloody return home for James Wan. Horror power now has rights for the whole future Saw Films, shows and media with Jigsaw and his terrifying legacy.
The long -standing producers of the franchise, Oren Kous AND Mark Burgthey moved away from their ownership share. Koules explained: “It seemed the right time to pass the witness”, while Burg added that he is ready to “go on and tell new stories”.
Despite the change of ownership, Lionsgate, which has been behind all ten films to date, will remain in the mix, keeping its share of 50% and managing the distribution forward.
WAN, who launched Saw With the original low budget budget in 2004, it will officially return to the franchise for the first time in almost two decades. His production company, Atomic Monster, merged with Blumhouse in 2024, making this transition as a next natural step.

With Blumhouse who now holds the keys to the twisted kingdom of Jigsaw and the original creators who guide the vision again, the future of Saw It will be interesting.
