In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, director Wes Anderson I talked about all 12 films he made, offering a surprisingly introspective look at the method behind his madly designed madness.
For over an hour in the video below, he spoke of everything, from his education in Texas and early friendship with Owen AND Luke Wilsonfor the unexpected hand of James L. Brooks This launched Bottle Rocket in the world.
The director said: “When you are writing a story, it often seems less as architecture and more as if you were excavating: we are only discovering it”.
The video came with the note: “Wes Anderson had made 12 films in 29 years, making his name widely known for his distinctive visual style of symmetrical compositions, vivid colors and unique movements of the camera. From his first film Bottle rocket to his great successes like The Grand Budapest Hotel AND The Royal TenenbaumsWes Anderson take a look at all his films and discusses in detail how they came to life. “
If you’ve ever been attracted to the symmetrical worlds and the sweet and sour characters of Anderson, this video offers a peek in the mind in which all those stories were gently discovered. As a fan of Anderson’s work, I really liked this video video and the intuitions it offers.
