Mike Flanagan offers a disappointing update on his Exorcist movie

Fans of horror they hope to see Mike Flanaganit is around The exorcist In theaters next spring, you will have to wait a little longer.

While answering questions about Tumblr, Flanagan has confirmed that there is no way of “in no way” the film will make its previously scheduled release date of 13 March 2026. The reason is that it is currently in depth in the pre-production on his Carrie Series for the first videos, which is taking priority.

The director shared: “The production has not started, we must first end Carrie. In no way will come out next March. Nothing to worry about, though.”

Flanagan clarified that the film is still happening. It is not yet ready.

It might seem like a risky tone for a Legacy franchise, but Flanagan looks like hyper-affordable of the weight it is transporting.

“I just saw the opportunity to make the film more frightening I have ever made. I know the expectations are high,” he said. “Nobody is more intimidated than me.”

If someone can do it, however, it is Flanagan. He spent the last decade to redefine modern horror on both screens. With The pursuit of Hill House, Midnight massAND The fall of the house of the usher Under his belt, not to mention his well -welcomed adaptations of Stephen King, his fans learned to be patient.

His latest film, Chuck’s lifeIt’s not really a horror movie, but he won the People’s Choice Award at TIFF, consolidating once again that it is worth watching anything Flangan.
