New concept art for Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* It emerged, giving fans a look at a more tricked and more tactical vision David HarborThe red guardian.
Shared by the concept artist Aleksi Briclot On Instagram, the design moves away from the bold appearance and inspired by the comic we saw in Black Widow and leans on something more hidden than a little more hidden.
“I chose a darker atmosphere,” Briclot explained, showing a dress that leaves bright reds for a silent black with thin crimson accents. The characteristic chest star also becomes full of black, adding to the furtive tone. It is a clear contrast with the most voluminous and traditional Red Guardian version at the end wears in the film.
Briclot described his approach, saying that the goal was “less Santa Claus” and more “specific”. It is easy to see how this iteration would have adapted to a darker tone and more on the ground for the team movie, one who feels more Mission: Impossible of Avengers.
While the final costume approached the original Harbour look from Black widowIt is fun to imagine what could have been if the creative team had opted for something more than Ops.
