If there is a question that has persecuted every Alien Film from Ridley Scott’s Original in 1979, is this … between humans and monsters, who is really worse?
This question is at the center of the scene Alien: earth, Noah HawleyThe next FX and Hulu series arriving on August 12th.
We have been for some time, but a new interview with Entertainment Weekly finally has a light on what is really guiding history, and is less on the Xenomorphs with acidic blood and more on human nature.
The series focuses on Wendy, a character played by Sydney Chandler. Wendy is a new type of character for the alien universe as it is a hybrid human robot with “the brain of a child in the body of a bot”.
This is a truly unique character and defines as he interacts with the horrors that surround it, including both the alien threat and people presumably on his side. Hawley explained:
“Sydney’s character is someone who is trying to understand what his role is in this world and, at a certain level, the centuries -old question of, humanity deserves to survive?”
Indicates the iconic Ripley line AliensWhen he asks: “which species is worse” as a direct influence. He continued:
“This idea of the horrible things we do each other,” Hawley continued. “Sydney plays a somewhat innocent character who finds herself trying to navigate two types of monsters. One is human and the other is from space.
That innocence comes from the infantile mind of Wendy and that mentality is the key to the emotional nucleus of the show. Chandler added:
“Noah brought us more into the space of the mentality. What is the essence of a child or a young adult? How do their minds work differently than the adult mind?
“The children are present and have not been affected by the world as much as an adult. So they trust their intestine and do not guess.”
With Alien: earthHawley is not just triggering another survival horror tour, but he is challenging the audience to confront the ugliest parts of themselves. The monsters are back, of course, but the real terror could still be us.
In the year 2120, the land is governed by five companies: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and thresholds. In this corporate era, there are Cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial and synthetic (humanoid robot with artificial intelligence) parts together with humans.
But the game has changed when the founder of Wunderkind and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological progress: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness).
When the mysterious search ship of the Deep Space Uscss Maginot crashes on Earth, “Wendy” and a group of ragtag of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face to face with the largest threat on the planet in FX Alien: earth.
In this version of the Earth, the future is not managed by the nations, but by the corporations, a dystopian turning point that aligns well with the alien tradition, in particular with the presence in continuous evolution of Weyland-Yutani.
According to the details previously released, the series will present five different monsters, making it easily one of the heaviest voices in the history of the franchise.
Chandler support is a stacked ensemble including Timothy Olyphant Like Kirsh, Alex Lawther as a hermit, e Babou ceesay Like tomorrow, together with Essie Davis, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Lily NewMarkAnd many others.
FX Alien: earth It is produced by Hawley, together with the legend of the franchise Ridley Scottas well David W. Zucker, Joseph Iberti, Dana GonzalesAND Clayton Krueger.
