The Gold Rush by Charlie Chaplin gets an incredible 4K trailer before his centenary release

A complete century has passed since then Charlie Chaplin’S The golden race Previewed at the Egyptian theater in Los Angeles and now the iconic silent comedy is getting a great return to the big screen.

A well restored 4K version of the film is destined to launch in cinemas around the world on June 26, which is exactly 100 years per day of its original debut in 1925.

I love watching these old Charlie Chaplin movies and it will finally be fantastic to see one on the big screen!

The restoration recently made its debut in Cannes Classics, kicking off the Festival with a reminder of how much the time of timeless Chaplin is truly. And now, Mk2 Films has released a new trailer that shows the vivid clarity and the loving care that went to the 4K update.

According to Mk2 Films, the reissue will project in over 500 rooms on over 70 territories. “This historical event marks a global tribute to Chaplin’s inheritance, reiterating the lasting power of gold racing to fascinate the public a century after its debut,” said the company in a note.

Chaplin not only starred in the film, but also wrote, direct and product. It remains one of his most famous works, full of unforgettable moments such as the “roll dance” and that famous dinner scene that involves a cooked boot.

Variety underlines: “Following his 2025 preimiere he was welcomed with an instant critical success. In 1942, Chaplin republished a” talkie “version, with sound effects, music and narration, which would have received two Oscar nominations (the original four years before the first Oscars).”

In 1992, the gold race was added to the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress to be “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.
